On the occasion of the 50th Congress of the European Underwater and Baromedical Society, the organizing committee of EUBS 2026 in Geneva has made the strong decision to organize a congress committed to sustainability, with the ambition of opening new perspectives toward a more eco-responsible future.

Because human health is inseparable from the health of our planet, we aim to reduce the environmental footprint of our event while delivering a high-quality scientific and human experience.

Throughout the congress, participants will benefit from a complimentary pass for Geneva’s public transportation network (TPG), which operates with electric mobility solutions, encouraging responsible and sustainable travel.

Bike rental services are also available in Geneva from the CICG conference center.

Our catering partners will be carefully selected, with priority given to:

• Local products
• Seasonal ingredients
• Short supply chains
• Attractive vegetarian options — on September 15th, participants will have the opportunity to discover vegetarian cuisine
• Social events and evening gatherings will also showcase regional gastronomy

At the Centre International de Conférences Genève (CICG):

• Each participant will receive a reusable water bottle
• Water fountains will be available on-site
• Promotional goodies will be voluntarily limited and carefully selected according to sustainability principles. We also encourage our partners to follow this approach by favoring responsible and limited giveaways
• The congress program will be available in digital format to reduce paper printing

The organizers’ clothing will be produced using fair-trade materials, in line with our commitments.

Presentations and discussions related to ecological transition and sustainability will also be highlighted during the congress.
